"HIP HOP RUMORS AND GOSSIP IN THA ENTERTAINMENT BIZNASS"

$. Breaking News: Gucci Mane Committed To Mental Institution. $

-According to reports, Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane has been committed to a mental institution in Atlanta, following a judge's recommendation for him to serve jail time for violating the terms of his probation.

According to documents obtained by TMZ.com, the rapper filed for a "Special Plea of Mental Incompetency" during his appearance yesterday (January 3rd), in front of a Fulton, County judge.

The rapper claimed he was in no state to "intelligently participate in the probation revocation hearing" and was committed to an undisclosed mental health facility, so his condition could be evaluated.

In December, another rapper, DMX was also ordered into a mental health facility, because of an "undiagnosed" mental condition. Both artists have well documented battles with drug use, which frequently has landed them behind bars.

DMX has been arrested every year since 1999, while Gucci Mane has racked up numerous offenses over the years, the most serious for Gucci being a May 2005 murder charge, which was later dismissed, stemming from a botched robbery involving men affiliated with Young Jeezy's CTE Entertainment.-

50 Cent To Showcase New Line Of Headphones

-
It looks as if 50 Cent is joining Dr. Dre and Diddy, not on a musical collaboration, but with the debut of a new line of headphones.
I guess 50 wasn't part of the conference call with Dre, Puff and Jimmy for the Beats By Dre line so  Fif will debut his wireless headphones at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show on Thursday, January 6 and will be featured through January 9.

Lil' Kim Explains Keyshia Cole Diss: "I Would Have Never Let Anyone Catch Wreck On Her On My Track"

Lil Kim Clears Up Keyshia Cole Remarks, "The Media Is Blowing Sh*t Outta Proportion"
Lil' Kim has taken to Twitter to explain her comment made about LA songbird Keyshia Cole during her rant on New Year's Eve at a show in Massachusetts.
As previously reported, Lil' Kim took offense to the collaboration of Nicki Minaj and Keyshia Cole for Keyshia's single “I Aint Thru”.
According to Kim, the track which features Minaj, was a diss to herself and the “Queen Of Hip-Hop Soul” Mary J. Blige.
Speaking on the subliminal diss, Kim told the crowd that she and Blige are ready to “eat these b*tches alive” and erase their social security numbers.
“I think this other b*tch got a song with Keyshia Cole, right? Coming at me and the muthaf*ckin' other queen, Mary J. Blige. Me and my girl Mary J. Blige about to eat these b*tches alive where they won't even f*cking exist no more and erase their f*cking social security number! We gon' remind them who the f*ck we are! I'm not playing with this b*tch for 2011. I'm saying, we can rock together but b*tch you ain't taking nothing from me!”

Although video as been posted of Kim making the comment, now via Twitter, Lil' Kim is stating that her remarks about Keyshia Cole were taken out of context.
“Let me address somethings since the media is blowing sh*t outta proportion," Kim wrote January 2nd.  "i've always had love 4 @keyshiacole but i would have never let anyone catch reck on her on my track cause keyshia was my friend in my eyes. all i was saying on NYE was me & @maryjblige do what we do & are who we are. & when me n mary collab its always a movie. that's my sister."

Hmm…I don't know if Lil' Kim got a call from Frankie or Neffie, but I see Lil' Kim is back peddling on this one.
